Meet Our Therapist: Gini Webster,
LCSW-C, CHT
I
am a psychotherapist by training and licensure, with
a Master’s in clinical social work from The Catholic
University of America in DC. I have worked with adults,
adolescents, and children in a traditional therapy
setting, as well as couples, family work, and group
therapy. I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist
and incorporate alternative practices into my therapeutic
work. In September, 2008, I will complete a two-year
training which will provide advanced clinical hypnotherapy
certification. I also am trained in EMDR, which is
a trauma treatment recognized specifically for rape
survivors and military veterans; it is useful for many
other issues as well.
I
use an eclectic, client-focused, and holistic approach
to therapy and utilize many techniques to address physical,
emotional, and spiritual issues. The heart-centered
hypnotherapy modality involves proven healing processes
including hypnosis, regression, Gestalt, visualization,
spiritual connection, and energy work. It is effective
with PTSD (trauma), anxiety, depression, life issues,
relationship issues, personal development, spiritual
progression, etc.
Alternative
therapies using hypnosis include past life regressions,
soul retrievals, and other more spirituality-based
practices. There is no religious or dogmatic practice
involved; the client’s belief system is always
respected, valued, and incorporated upon his or her
request and desire.
The
Weight Release Group Program addresses the emotional
eating habits and lifelong patterns of self-sabotage
that interfere with healthy weight goals and fitness.
This program is run in a group format with 6 to 10
participants and provides a safe, secure, confidential
way to learn about hypnosis and how it can be used
to achieve one’s goals and release those self-defeating
and destructive patterns. The bonding between participants
allows each person to discover their individual emotional
roadblocks and find ways to overcome negative behaviors,
all while supporting the other participants and being
supported.
