About Michelle Lea

Our clinic has been around since 1998 starting in a single room office in Leonardtown, Maryland. We then grew into our current 2,000 sq. ft. facility in Hollywood, Maryland.

Our success comes from letting the customer lead us in the way that we need to grow. We believe that when there is good client/therapist feedback, it not only helps with customer satisfaction, but a quicker recovery for you as well.

Another reason we are so successful is the fact that our therapists are highly educated and trained in the most current techniques, laws and numerous massage modalities.

We do not do “assembly line” massages. Each session is customized to the individual specific needs.

Who is Michelle Lea ?

Michelle Lea worked (behind the table) from 1998 to 2008. She saw the demand for alternative therapy. She has researched and soul searched this aspect of healing and has discovered that most people are opened to non-traditional therapy as long as its “grounded”.  She prides herself and her staff on this approach. We are alternative healthcare at affordable prices.

Why Us

All of our therapists carry Maryland licenses so we encourage you to try all the therapists in our office. Each therapist brings something unique to the table and specializes in a multitude of modalities. Not to mention, if one is on vacation or not available, you’ll feel comfortable trying a different therapist. We actually encourage you to try everyone!

Our retention rate speaks for itself and it speaks volumes. We currently have 80% of the therapeutic massage business in southern Maryland. Besides being Maryland and Nationally Certified, we are recognized by many insurance companies and local physicians. Additionally, we have an active referral process with the local Hospice service due to the licensing we carry.

We make appointments for every day of the week. Fill out our Intake Form and bring it with you when you come in. This will enable us to better serve your particular needs.

We are the first holistic healthcare in Southern MD.

“I have seen many businesses suffer during this recession but ours hasn’t missed a beat.  If anything, we actually expanded and continued to grow.  This proves that pain doesn’t go away during a recession and the need for holistic healthcare is in demand.”

Qualified Professionals

The Michelle Lea and Associates bring years of education, professionalism and hands-on experience. Our staff would like to thank YOU for choosing us. Thank you for your confidence and belief in our approach to your well-being. Without you, we couldn't be!

Michelle Lea, LMT M01055 (inactive), President

Michelle Lea has practiced since 1998 and can be found educating the public on pain management and stress reduction. She is Licensed in the State of Maryland and continues to expand her business to better accommodate the growing clientele. She learned quickly about the demand for alternative therapy. While some may find massage an “unlikely” form of health care, Michelle stresses the fundamentals and necessity of Therapeutic Massage and Holistic healthcare as a complimentary means of healing.

Michelle is no longer doing massage in order to manage the growing business. She’s enjoyed watching the massage industry take shape in her 30+ years in the industry. She remembers when the industry was not taken seriously or accepted by the medical community and insurance companies. We’ve come a long way since 1989.

In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, fur babies and paint.

Melody Gough, Master Herbalist

My daughter has suffered from migraines for over 8 years. I began removing foods from her diet and searching for natural remedies because she was too young for many medications. I became very interested in herbal medicine mainly because I could control the dosage and I knew exactly what I was giving her.

I have recently studied with Natural Healing College in California.

Melody also works at our herbal and supplement store, Gramas Cupboard.

Laura Dufresne, LMT 05056

Laura Dufresne is a firm believer in the power of touch. Her training at the Florida School of Massage as well as her background in physical therapy has led her to the idea of healing through positive less invasive touch. She will work with you on an individual basis to create a massage that is unique to you and your personal needs.

Laura is certified in:
Swedish, Neuromuscular, Connective Tissue, Reflexology, Sports, Medical, Geriatric, Infant/Child Therapeutic Massage

Tiara Farr, RMP R02122

In 2014 she graduated from Baltimore School of Massage where she became a registered massage practitioner (RMP). She is in LOVE with her job and is very passionate about restoring the connection between body and mind. Tiara will customize massages to your needs and wants, in doing so she can create a personalized wellness plan just for you!

From a very young age Tiara has been deeply interested in the power of touch and how the positive energy from one’s self can provide others happiness as well as restorative well-being. Through the guidance of a family member who is a Reiki Master, Tiara was introduced to the wonders of energy work and massage. It was made apparent that this was her calling, and therefore she wanted to become a massage therapist. Through massage she knew that she could incorporate her energy and touch to help others heal, be happy and healthy.

A little personal info about herself is that she loves cats! Tiara has 3 very fat happy cats at home. Their names are Milo, Cleo and Hazel.

Kristen Team, RMP R01719

I graduated from Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage, in 2012. I am licensed to practice in Maryland and Virginia.  I’ve always wanted to work in healthcare. I started as a CNA, while in Nursing School. I had to stop school and work, because I was diagnosed with cancer. My chemo. regimen was 3 years long and extremely difficult. During that time I discovered the effects of massage/bodywork therapy. I know first hand, the positive impact massage gives both physically and mentally, when I recovered I knew that this is how I could help people. I specialize in deep tissue, prenatal, oncology and trigger point therapy.
